Introducing concreteDB: A Data Platform for Concrete Innovation, let's collect data!

The construction industry stands on the brink of a transformative leap with the advent of reliable data. concreteDB, the latest milestone in concrete technology. For years, professionals and researchers have longed for a unified, accessible repository of concrete mix designs and their respective testing outcomes. Today, we are proud to announce the realization of this vision with concreteDB.


This project is funded (award #2235678) by the NSF Convergence Accelerator program and is a part of the program’s 2022 Cohort, Track I: Sustainable Materials for Global Challenges.

Bridging the Gap with Open Data ConcreteDB emerges as an open-source triumph, a comprehensive data paltform that melds multi-source data on concrete mix design and testing results. It represents a pivotal step towards material transparency and innovation in the concrete industry.

Phase 1 Success: The Prototype Our journey began with the OpenMatFlo project's ambitious Phase 1, culminating in a fully functional prototype of concreteDB platform. This prototype laid the groundwork for what will become an indispensable tool for architects, engineers, and builders worldwide.

Leveraging AI for Data Mining As we move forward, our focus is to enhance concreteDB's capabilities by integrating AI-powered tools. These sophisticated technologies will scour literature and various public domains to extract and process valuable data on concrete properties, performance, and environmental impact.
